Abstract


Fung family was a famous family in Jixi Dong Guan with a long history in Huizhou region. It had been long active in the local community because their family’s internal organizational structure and family rules, family tradition. The prevalence of the imperial examination system created Fung family a lot of talents, and never officialdom. Entering the officialdom road, descendants of Fung family did not forget feeding the family; they made a lot of contributions to the hometown’s building. The loyalty and filial piety were the largest pursuit of the family. In the family’s developing history, there were too numerous loyal men and loyal women phenomenon to mention. So on the choice of marriage; they had their own unique tendencies."Marriage does not ask the valve read", only the honest and pure people was the best selection. After the baptism of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom of war, the children within the family began to realize this society, their way of life, thinking had undergone a tremendous change. With the times became the of clan’s modern pursuit.The article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the origin of the family, the founders of the family, named Fan, branching and migration of the family. This chapter provides background information to the discussed below.Chapter two is a brief introduction of the family’s achievements in the imperial examination, official, highlights of the Feng Rong, Feng Jing and Feng Lan’s political acts as well as their influence to the development of local politic. Fung’s cultural achievements had a very important impact on Jixi County, their arts works are numerous. Top Comfort College from the Song Dynasty began to nurture a generation after generation of the Fung descendants. The reason why they can obtain those achievements, entirely thanks to the good education they received. Both the clan collective and a single family, given education greatly support and a high level of emphasis.Ancestral hall building (the function of the ancestral hall, the source of the cost of the establishment of ancestral halls, ancestral halls built), Fung family’s worship ceremony (ancestor worshiping, worship on the tomb), Fung family’s Land using to worship (the sources and function of Land using to worship, the number of land using to worship and its management), the situation of genealogy compiling in Fung family. All of these are sticking point to maintaining family ups and downs, which also set a good example for the local community. Chapter three discussed the clan’s construction and management of the Fung family from these aspects.To discuss the relations between the Fung family and local social, is the main content of the fourth chapter. Fung family, with lots talented people, has a strict family rules and family laws, family motto from the beginning of the construction of the family. Children and grandchildren were well educated during early age by the ancestral hall and the family. It is precisely because they received a good moral education in early age, they actively enthusiastic about public welfare in contacts with the local community, have made indelible contributions to local social’s stability. At the same time, they built a good marriage relationship with the most common surname in contact with local community. Fung family has maintained a stable development trend.Finally, we pay attention to the modern transformation of Fung family in Jixi in the late Qing Dynasty. Because they just out of the traditional society to meet the new era of clan organization, both in the education of the descendants and self-ideas, are subject to great influence and impact of the new social theory and practice. They no longer protect the guaranteed to keep missing, but outreach to a different, more colorful living space. Get out of the regional restrictions became their time pursuit.
