Abstract


The philosophy of Heaven and man is mianstream elements in the Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties. Especially in the Western Han dynasty, from a large number of unearthed documents can be found in the folk thoughts already pervaded the simple ideas of "Correspondence Between Man and Universe". Since Dong zhongshu,"Correspondence Between Man and Universe" was endowed with noble and delicate structure. From then on, the modified thought of "Correspondence Between Man and Universe" in the Western Han dynasty became occupy more important position. Liu Bang, the founding monarch of the Western Han dynasty, who ended the China’s aristocratic society with the identity of the civilian. Which maked the Western Han dynasty pay more attention to the legitimate status of Son of Heaven of the Han Dynasty. The regime legitimacy of Han dynasty and the source of imperial power were continual argumented and questioned in the intelligentsia. So han emperors themselves must give properly interpretation. The philosophy of Heaven and man became a perfect and handy tool.From the four aspects, as the myth of inductive birth, the reform of outskirts sacrifice, The Rites of the Emperor Accession, the long memorial on calamity and abnormal phenomenon and the abdication trend,this article discussed the efforts to the regime legitimacy which the Western Han dynasty had paid.
