Abstract


With the development of computer technology and control technology, the latestdigital technology is gradually replacing simulation technology, the operator’s rolealso have been changed from mainly relating operational activity to mainly relatingsupervision (monitoring) and decision. Although manipulation in the physical load fell,what they experience the mental workload was increased. Science and technologyimprove the reliability of system, change the way of working mode, at the same time,human reliability is becoming more and more important in the human-machine system.Therefore, It is positive to study the operator’s mental workload and its influencingfactors for improving the reliability of the operator and reducing human errors. Theresearch of thesis is to study the relationship of operators’ personality traits and mentalworkload in the digital control system.The empirical analysis is built on studies of operators’ mental workload and itsinfluencing factors in digitalization control system. Thirty-six participants recruitedfrom university. First, adopt22factor fixed effects model design, the environmentalfactors including task types and displays. Electrocardiongram was recordedcontinuously during the experiment. And, use both physiological and multidimensionalsubjective-ratings measurements(heart rate and NASA Task Load Index, respectively),itexplored the difference about the operators’ mental workload. Second, it concluded theoperators’ personality traits trend according to Big–Five personality trait model andanalyzed the stress load and personality traits difference.The result presented that Adjustment and Conscientiousness are the high ratio inthe operators personality traits. When executing different degrees of memory operatingtasks, the operators have Adjustment and Conscientiousness traits were no significanceon mental workload. Mental demand time demand and effort are valuably the importantresults in the NASA Task Load Index assessment. It performed task types would be themain effect which caused the operators mental workload difference in NASA Task LoadIndex and heart rate.
