Objectives To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine of recuperating the ascending-descending therapies on chronic renal failure (CRF) of early and metaphase so as to discuss the clinical efficacy and safety of the chronic renal failure treatment with foundation for ascending-descending theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Methods 70 patients with chronic renal failure of early and metaphase were randomly divided into two groups according to the experiment design critera, conventional treatment of western medicine plus taking combined decoction of Shenqidihuang and Liujunzi as control group (n=35), conventional treatment of western medicine plus taking decoction of Chinese medicine of recuperating the ascending-descending as the treatment group (n=35). The serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), endogenous creatinine clearance (Ccr), hemoglobin (Hb), symptom scores changes and effects for the two groups were observed after 12 weeks. In comparison with the curative effect of the treatment group before and after curative and after curative of the two groups. The result were analyzed by SPSS11.5 statistical software.Results(1) After treatment the total efficiency of the treatment group (80%) was significantly higher than control group (60%). Two groups of comparisons are statistically significant (P<0.05).(2) After treatment the curative effect of TCM symptoms of the treatment group (80%) was significantly higher than control group (60%). Two groups of comparisons are statistically significant (P<0.05). (3) After treatment of 12 weeks, the level of symptoms and signs integral (14.34±5.08) points, BUN (18.41±6.53) mmol/L and Scr (392.45±162.26) umol/L were lower respectively than before treatment (22.06±5.37) points, (21.24±8.12) mmol/L and (428.07±169.57) umol/L ( t=5.756, P<0.05, t=3.235, P<0.05, t=3.353, P<0.05), Ccr (23.35±10.53) ml/min and Hb (102.00±17.59) g/L were higher respectively than before treatment (21.02±8.89) ml/min and ( 94.60±15.953) g/L (t=-3.597, P<0.05; t=-6.101, P<0.05). All comparisons are statistically significant (P<0.05).(4) After treatment Hb of the treatment group and the control group are respectively (102.00±17.59) g/L and (96.11±24.28) g/L. Two groups of comparisons are not statistically significant (t=1.161, P﹥0.05).(5) After treatment BUN, Scr and Ccr of the treatment group are respectively (18.41±6.53) mmol/L, (392.45±162.26) umol/L and (23.35±10.53) ml/min. BUN, Scr and Ccr of the control group are respectively (19.21±5.29) mmol/L, (447.63±181.72) umol/L and (20.72±8.34) ml/min, two groups of comparisons are not statistically significant (t=0.423, P﹥0.05; t=-1.112,P﹥0.05; t=0.759 ,P﹥0.05).(6) After treatment the level of symptoms and signs integral (14.34±5.08) points of the treatment group is lower than the of control group (22.86±7.43) points, two groups of comparisons are statistically significant (t=-3.818, P﹤0.05).Conclusions The clinical symptoms have improved obviously. The level of BUN and Scr were lower respectively than before. The level of Ccr and Hb were higher respectively than before conducted by ascending-descending theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Treatment method of Chinese medicine of recuperating the ascending-descending therapies on chronic renal failure (CRF) of early and metaphase has certain effect, safety reliable and can improve the life quality of patients with an effective way. Not only is positive effect, but also is better than conventional treatment methods of TCM.
