Abstract


With the diversity of consumer demand and increasing competition among enterprises, an enterprise could not only rely on a product firmly to occupy the market, thus companies are required quickly to bring new products solutions into products, and transferred to the manufacturing center for mass production, we call it new product introduction.Concurrent Engineering is the process of parallel and related products, it is an integrated systems approach and integrated processing techniques. It requires product developers taking into account the product life cycle stages of the factors from the beginning, and stresses on all departments work together. Through the establishment of effective mechanisms for information exchange and communication, decision makers consider all relevant factors, making the subsequent part of the problems that may occur in the early stages of the design was discovered and resolved, so that the product design stage with good manufacturability, well assembling, and recycling, so as to minimize design iterations, shorten the production design, production preparation and manufacturing time.This paper firstly introduces the theory of concurrent engineering, and reveals the relationship of new product development and concurrent engineering, then describes that the information system, process reengineering and process management is the prerequisite for the successful implementation of concurrent engineering and security factors. At the same time, information systematic cross-tie use in collaborative office environment can make the effectiveness of concurrent engineering to play to the maximum. Meanwhile, the staff work between the effective implementation is the key of concurrent engineering. Concurrent engineering team that set up could ensure finish project timely and orderly, so that the stake holders in a collaborative office environment can achieve both winning situation. Then with the example of Samsung mobile phone manufacturing plant’s new product development status, it illustrates the concurrent engineering approach in the management of new product introduction schedule and the advantages of the application of concurrent engineering for Samsung to bring the improvements. It shows that concurrent engineering is Samsung mobile phone manufacturing plant is an effective means to improve new product development. In addition, Samsung also made the final in the use of concurrent engineering work, the words of the staff performance evaluation of defects, which Samsung should improve.
