Abstract


Since the application of Multimedia-Network technology in foreign language teaching, it is paid great attention by teaching community in China. What’s more, it’s regarded as a more effective medium for foreign language teaching and represents an inevitable trend of applied linguistics. As a major course for English majors, Advanced English focuses on improving the students’comprehensive abilities. With the rapid development and application of Multimedia-Network technology, the teaching ideas and learning styles of Advanced English also changes accordingly. The thesis integrates the characteristics of CALL and TBLT into the teaching of Advanced English .This thesis first elaborates the theoretical foundations of both TBLT and CALL, and point out the necessity and feasibility of TBLT based on Multimedia-Network for Advanced English according to its present teaching situation. The thesis also constructs a teaching model for Advanced English and makes an experimental research. The task-based teaching model based on Multimedia-Network changes students’passive attitude in traditional teaching process and makes them more active in the class. In this case students’interest and creativity are stimulated and their autonomous learning ability can be trained. Although there are some limitations in the experiment research, we can still get lots of implications: Teachers should try best to create task-based learning environment with the aid of advanced educational technology and make students achieve the goal of language acquisition.
