Teaching basic gymnastics is a sport indispensable content, teaching basic gymnastics ability is a physical education teacher must master each of the teaching of basic skills, and basic gymnastics is to develop students’physical education physical education an important part of the ability and means. In this paper, literature, questionnaires, expert interviews, statistics and other methods to China’s sports schools physical education students reaching basic gymnastics ability to study, to Beijing Sports University, Shanghai. Institute of Physical Education, Xi’an Institute of Physical Education, Guangzhou Sports College, Capital Institute of Physical Education, Shandong Institute of Physical Education in physical education students for the survey, combined with basic gymnastics on research, China’s sports schools for students in physical, education teaching in the basic gymnastics and ability to conduct investigation and system analysis, identify limiting factors, and thus make recommendations with a view to China’s sports schools physical education students teaching basic gymnastics ability to provide a theoretical reference.The study reached the following conclusions:(1) in the investigation of the six sports colleges, physical education teaching basic gymnastics form is divided into:as one of the teaching gymnastics, but also as a preparation class to prepare class activities on the part.(2) physical education students teaching basic gymnastics techniques to queue formation exercises, fitness gym based, and light equipment and specialized gymnastics gymnastics teaching less; students to basic gymnastics teaching ability including ability to organize Investigation Team, demonstration of ability, the ability to explain, lesson plans write capability, prepared speaking abili ty, ability to lead and exercise ability to find and correct the problem. (3) The increase in the number of students, teaching large classes, teachers difficult to take into account each student, the students get the opportunity to exercise less, basic gymnastics class teaching ability can not be fully comprehensive training and exercise.(4) students in the form of basic gymnastics teaching practice quiz is divided into training and specialized training two. Frequent practice quiz, time is generally10minutes; fewer specialized training, generally the entire course each student only once. Students practice time and less frequently, can not fully find their own inadequacies, and thus the improvement of specialized training.(5) of the basic gymnastics school assessment system failure, assessment of students lack basic gymnastics for a comprehensive assessment of teaching ability, such as students with speaking ability, the ability to explain, correct, and correct mistakes, etc.:basic gymnastics gymnastics results accounted for a percentage of the total score less.
