With the rapid development of communication technology, home networking environment haschanged a lot. Simple cable network has not fully meet the needs of users, while Wi-Fi technology,Internet of Things and other wireless technology is more and more preferable to people. Homenetwork is gradually evolving into a heterogeneous network interconnected by wired link andwireless channel. Being the core of the home network, home gateway not only provides high-speedinternet access, the Wi-Fi coverage, but also supports the intelligent family services, such as audioand video business, remote monitoring and management of home facilities.In the thesis, home heterogeneous gateway providing public network access, Wi-Fi coverage,home facilities wireless network and the service of remote monitoring and management of homeequipment is studied. Firstly, according to the analysis of expected design goal, the system’shardware and software program is proposed. Linux based chip RT5350is chosen as the system CPU,while ZigBee is used as the sensor nodes of home control network. To the design of home controlnetwork management model, three-tier management mode of ‘room area+device class+similaritydistinction’ is proposed. Secondly, Ralink SDK is briefly introduced and the development platformof RT5350is set up. Thirdly, the implementation of key technologies in this system are explained,which includes adding sqlite3database, the database file designed for home control network, theimplementation of RT5350serial driver, the communication mode of ZigBee wireless network,starting GoAhead Web server, the design of dynamic Web pages CGI, adding wifi driver, flashpartition and creating uboot and root_uImage. Finally, after programming the system, test theoverall system and finish the analysis and summary.
