Abstract

With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, wireless localarea network (such as WiFi), wireless metropolitan area networks (such as WiMAX),public mobile communications network (such as2G,3G) and other wireless networkscross-coverage, double coverage. These wireless communication systems togetherprovide users with a heterogeneous network environment. And the heterogeneouscognitive network environment become the next major communicationsscene. Therefore, the research on the multimode terminal of an effectivereconfiguration strategy for the next generation of communication terminal hasimportant practical value. In this paper, a combination of one personal computer and communicationmodules develops as a multi-mode terminal hardware platform, Windows systemplatform and Visual C++6.0are developed as a multi-mode terminal software platform. The paper first analyzes the functional requirements of the multimode terminal, andproposes the overall design and detailed program.Next, in the functional design part, terminal system achieves access controls for WCDMA and WLAN networks, as wellas the application of the eigenvectors law and the improved TOPSIS(Technique forOrder Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) as reconfiguration strategies in aheterogeneous network environment under reconfiguration demo. Finally, themultimode terminal management software do the test in function, correctness andperformance, and do the analysis.Test and analysis results show that: Depending on thedifferent service QoS in three heterogeneous network scenes, the multimode terminalsystem can make network solutions sorted according to the pros and cons, and accessthe best network, the result is in line with the expected design of multi-mode terminal.
