Abstract


The workflow is used to reflect the change in the process of business or activity.According to a series of process rules, document or task can transfers and performbetween the executants. Workflow engine is the core component of the WorkflowManagement System, and it can drive flow work.Firstly,The paper research the function of the Workflow Mamagement and theWfMC reference model based on understanding of workflow technology, also introducesthe multi-tier architecture of J2EE technology frame.Secondly,it introduces the maincontent of the research OSWorkflow workflow engine including its interrelated coreconceptions of workflows, the functionality of the key packages in a detailed way andthe structure and function of its internal tables in-depth discussion.Then, through thestudy of OSWorkflow workflow engine, and combined with the system’s actual demand,improving the deficiency of the osworkflow workflow engine, refactoring OSWorkflowthe OSUser module to increase the functionality of the e-mail alert, and to apply them inthe system..At last, it achieves a efficient, easy-to-use, low-cost LIRS(LaboratoryInformation Reporting System) on the base of the research of OSWorkflow, Spring MVCand Hibernate of the current mainstream open source framework according with J2EEcriterion. In LIRS system, department administrators report laboratory data through thesystem, the parent department leadership approve laboratory data through the system, ifapproval is not passed, the system will send mail to remind the department administratorfor modify the data required to re-reported, and the report data will enter into approvalprocess.Through the application and realization of OSWorkflow in the system indicated thatOSWorkflow is a lightweight engine. It can be integrated into the J2EE systemframework with minimum cost, in addition，it can control and manage the part or wholebusiness process. It can make the development person pay more attention to businesslogic, so it can make the system with more perfect function and higher developmentefficiency.
