Abstract


Since been released, OA journals initiated the sharing of information and academic. OA journals are receiving the general experts’ favor more and more for its free servers like reading, downloading, duplication, sending out or linking and so on. While developing and using the OA journals vigorously, the people also gradually pay attention to the evaluation of OA journals. The OA journals have their own link characteristic. The value of different link is different. Therefore the former Web impact factor cannot be able to satisfy the people demand for evaluating the OA journals. It needs a new solution according the link characteristic of the OA journals that the calculating of the OA journals.This article proposed a calculation of the OA journals based on the link mining which accords to the link characteristic of the OA journals. In order to divide the link type. seeks for the same link motive between each link, this article uses the content characteristic, out-link characteristic, in-link characteristic to construct three-fold vector space model for each document, and clustered the links using the M-S algorithm. Basing on the chosen of the M-S algorithm, the paper has designed the special tools using java language for link capturing and clustering and has cleaned the dates using database technology and special computer program. Starting with the assumption of the link analysis, the elements of link type will be added to the calculations of the Web impact factor. Finally a better calculation which suited in the OA journals will be made.Using the computational method of the Web impact factor of OA journals based on link mining and the tools that has been designed for capturing and clustering, this paper has cluster analyzed the out-links of D-Lib Magazine, calculated the Web impact factor and has carried on the comparison with the traditional Web impact factor computational method. The diagnosis result indicated that the Web impact factor computational method of OA journals based on link mining is feasible.The calculation of the OA journals based on the link mining may serve for the OAjournals appraisal, guides the readers to read, promot the improvement of the domestic OA journals.
