Abstract


As a comprehensive processing equipment , metallographic polishing machine integrates advanced technology in the field of modern electronic , mechanical , measurement and material achievements . The metallographic sample is microscopic examination of a sample of the metal can be used , it is indispensable in the metallographic analysis process . The metallographic sample production can be done manually , can also be accomplished by polishing equipment . With the development of modern electronic technology , the new generation of polishing machine is from pure manual , semi- automated , controlled by a microprocessor developed into automated machinery and equipment . This article describes a metallographic polishing machine control system Embedded Linux, and ARM chip as the core . Subject the ultimate objective is to achieve the intelligent control of a polishing machine at different speed , time and pressure : for the different properties of the metal to be polished in order to prevent the organization and characteristics of the destroyed metal . Mechatronics technology , mechanical and electronic technologies combine to increase the degree of automation and efficiency of the polishing machine . Performing polishing system designed to improve the speed control system and regulator system , the polishing process more smooth , polished accuracy is improved . The design uses a combination of hardware and software to achieve control of metallographic polishing machine . Polishing machine control system has two components : the control module and human-machine interface . Control module using the ARM processor to control a DC motor and a stepper motor , DC motor to control the speed and direction of the polishing , the rise and fall of the stepper motor control power head . Two : the main function of the human-machine interface to display the polished data and input polishing parameters . Polishing parameters : polishing time, speed, pressure, etc. may be provided via the HMI ; test these parameters can be performed in the actual polishing process analysis, to find the most closely matches with the metal sample polishing parameters . Use the ARM chip in the control system of the DC motor speed control , time , pressure , speed monitoring at the same time , greatly improving the efficiency of the polishing machine , reducing the workload of the staff .
