Abstract


Surpassing the era of analog, video surveillance systems are marching forward towards digital and IP based, facing increasing new requirements and challenges when expanding its presence to more and more verticals. How to realize the communication among different video surveillance systems across different domains, and establish seamless interconnection among those distributed heterogeneous sub-systems to achieve the goal of "Distributed control, Centralized management" has become a heated topic.In this thesis, it is first gernerally introduced that technical trend of current video surveillance and the requirement of network connecting and sharing among different domains of video surveillance. Our research points out the solution provided by the inter-domain networking stack for the difficulties of meeting the requirement.Secondly, the signaling part of the inter-domain video surveillance stack is implemented based on an open-source project. Based on the research on reSIProcate which is selected as our platform after comparing the major SIP-based open source projects to see their pros and cons,we implement the stack,including the extended SIP method and body content.Thirdly, the interface between the original system and the networking unit was designed so that the original Ice-based system could be connected through the stack to shar its surveillance resources.The last but not the least, we propose a highly scalable, multi-business integrated SIP-based distributed platform, on which most multimedia business could be developed and run together with inter-domain video surveillance.
