Abstract


Political socialization is the process in which the "political people" are trained through the heritage and innovation of political culture to meet certain social rule. As an important media, with its breadth and diversity of content and other unique advantages, mass media plays an important role in the process of political socialization .for its unique position ,mass media also becomes a spot of political sociology and media studies .In this paper, the factors of mass media will be analysed .Some suggestions will be put on the improvement of the political socialization function of mass media in China.This article is divided into three parts, the first two parts are mainly an introduction to basic concepts. The first part introduces political culture、political socialization and other related concepts, and the relationship between ideological and political education and political socialization . The second part describes the positive and negative roles of Mass Media in political socialization.The third part is the focus of the whole essay,in which the background of the role of Mass Media in political socialization is introduced firstly:one is our unique social transformation period and the consequently crisis of political identity、subtle transformation of political passion and political evaluation.;the other one is the dual property ,that is ,both the ideological and industrial property of Mass Media in China,which brings about a series of problems in the pursue between economical and social benefits . Then is the analysis of these problems and the corresponding countermeasures are proposed.
