Abstract


Since the1990s, China’s TV technology in all respects make breakthrough in TV variety show. As animportant form of television programs, TV variety show attracks more and more attention from all walks oflife. It combines a variety of art forms and absorbs their essence, which makes it gradually recognized bythe audience and becomes an indispensable form enjoyed by the audience in their spare time. The rise ofhost group in a television variety show promotes the show content performed better. The core content ofthis paper is how to apply better the host group to a television variety show and make the structure of thegroup build a harmonious structure.The host group, from the literal meaning, we can understand it as a group combined by a number ofshow hosts who participate in the same program. The earliest period of the formation of this concept can betraced back to “square and large varity show”, a large comprehensive intelligence TV program founded inthe1990s by the CCTV. The hosts of this show include two hosts who host the show in the studio and onewho host the show outdoors. After development of a few decades, in “2008television program list”selected by “New Week” in2009, the six hosts of the hit show “better day after day” on Hunan TVawarded the "Best hosts of entertainment show”, and so far, the concept of host group officially becamethe focus of attention among the television circle. Having made a number of discussion and analysis, somescholars make such a definition about host group: a hosting form with three or more distinctive hostsgrouping together according to some certern rules.The article is divided into six parts, the first part defines the two key words----TV variety show andhost group and gives a more detailed analysis of the spreading attribute and of the background of theincentives of the formation of TV variety show. The second part focuses on the summary and analysis ofthe spreading characteristics of host group in television variety show.The third part specificallyinvestigates the construction principle of the harmonious structure of host group in China’s TV varietyshow and sums up four principles. The fourth part, the core section of this article, gives a specifical analysisof how to build a harmonious structure of host group in China’s TV variety show and of studying thespecific ways of building the harmonious structure from multiple perspectives. The fifth part respectively puts forward a series of recent problems or potential crisis in the building of the harmonious structure ofhost group in China’s TV variety show by means of illustration. The sixth part carry out a specific vision ofhost group in China’s TV variety show in the future.
