Abstract


Local characteristics of the resource is "boutique" in information resources, and an important manifestation of the provincial public libraries regional characteristics, the cultural heritage, plays a very important role to the local historical and cultural heritage. Local characteristics of the resource database created is in order to full play the function of the Provincial Public Library characteristics information resources, for local economic construction and social development services, to meet the information needs of the readers. The establishment of the local characteristics of the resource database can establish the brand position of the provincial public libraries, enhance its competitiveness in the information society, but also the based on the book of the provincial public libraries is in the information society. This paper is from the current construction situation of China’s provincial public libraries local characteristics of the resource database to analysis and study of the main problems, trying to explore the road of development of the provincial public libraries local characteristics of the resource database construction.This paper consists of two parts:The first part of paper, investigates and evaluates local characteristics of resource database construction status of China’s provincial public libraries investigation and evaluation. First, by the network to investigate the local characteristics of the resource database construction status of China’s provincial public libraries, and to interview investigation with the conditional interviews provincial public library (as Shaanxi Province Library, Yunnan Province Library, Zhejiang Province Library etc.), and organize the survey results. Second, according to certain principles and standard, summarizes the achievements and experience, overall evaluation of the local characteristics of the resource database construction status of China’s provincial public libraries. Again, according to the survey results of the analysis, and from the point of view of database construction and services ate multiple angles to comprehensive analysis the main problems and the main affect development factors of the provincial public library the local characteristics of resource database construction. The second part, study how to further develop the construction of provincial public libraries local characteristics of the resource database. First, under the guidance of the relevant theory, combined with the actual, to discuss further development of the local characteristics of China’s provincial public library resource database construction of basic requirements, basic idea and basic method etc, to provide a theoretical basis for the further development of the local characteristics of the resource database construction of China’s provincial public library; the second is around development issues, to propose the basic methods for further development and upgrading of provincial public libraries local characteristics resource database construction quality and level, to provide advice to the provincial public libraries local characteristics of the resource database development, and to provide a reference for the characteristics resources database construction of other library.
