Abstract


Waveform generator is one of the testing apparatuses often used in project test and experimentation. In the special testing environment, test requirement sometimes can hardly be fulfilled by the universal waveform generator, so the waveform generator with especial test function would need to be designed. This paper aims at the design of the signal simulator with multi-channel waveform output which is needed to detect some SONAR in the ordinary LAB.According to the requirement of the system performance indices, this paper presents a design proposal based on DSP, then completes selecting the types of chip. The design includes hardware design and software design. The hardware design uses the TMS320VC5509A DSP of the TI Inc. as the control part, and TLV5614 D/A converter of TI Inc. as the kernel of waveform generator. The soft design uses the fundamental theory of the direct digital synthesis technology to generate waveform.In this paper, the designed based on DSP of multi-channel signal simulator can generate sine wave and CW pulse signal, the frequency, the amplitude and the initial phase of the waveform can be controlled, and each channel is independent.
