Global climate anomaly has brought increasingly seirous impact on human development,so global warming has been the hot issue of humanity. Research conifrms that global warmingis closely related with the emission of CCh.Curerntly，low-carbon is becoming the appeal ofglobal development, meanwhile the vast majoirty of countires have reachcd a consensus thatreducing greenhouse gas emissions is the effective way to solve global wanning. With theconsideration of the resources endowments of Western region in China, the current industiralstructure, undertaking an important position in the eastern industiral transfer and the strategicposition of regional development in China. The transition to low-carbon, not only can seize theopportunity of western region development，but also achieve sustainable development.This thesis is based on the background to focus on carbon emissions， and the conccpt andtheoretical studies of low-carbon economy, combined with the characteirstic of carbonemission in western region, using EKC and decoupling theory to analysis the relationshipbetween economic growth and carbon emission from long run and short term, from theperspective of carbon emission of dirving factors at the same time, introducing the matureLMDI model to decomposition carbon emission from economic scale, industry structure，energy intensity, energy structure and carbon emission factor, which is from the year of1995to2010in western region to explore the path of development low-carbon economy. Finally,given specific suggestions based on the results of empiircal research and the advantages andconstraints of low-carbon economy development.
