In recent years, residential demand, floor area per capita and quality in Wuhan have increased annually, housing industry as a new force rises gradually. To order to meet all the requirements and ensure the sustainable development of the city, it must change the traditional residential construction methods. Only promoting housing industrialization can it change the traditional building methods to the intensive methods of industrialization, improve the quality of houses, meet the people’s increasing demand on housing consumption, pull national economy greatly and achieve the sustainable development of the city.However, the slow housing industrialization development in Wuhan, needs policy to promote. The purpose of the paper is to provide some policy recommendations about this. In order to ensure the reasonableness of the policy recommendations, based on the theory of industrial development, the paper put forward development policy recommendations corresponding with the stage of development of the housing industry in Wuhan after determining the stage of development.The paper firstly describes the basic theories that the research needs, including the housing industry, house housing industrialization, industrial development and house market. Secondly, for giving some reference to the government in Wuhan, it compares the status of promoting the housing industrialization by government at home and abroad. Thirdly, it summarizes the development of the housing industrialization in Wuhan, including the aspects of the necessity of the development, the development history, characteristics of the development status, the advantages and disadvantages of development, the behavior of the industry chain and the constraints of development. Fourthly, with using the industrial development-stage recognition model, it determines the, the housing industry in Wuhan is in the growth stage of emerging industry and indicates that the development policy on promoting housing industrialization should be the support policies for emerging industry. Finally, on promoting housing industrialization, the paper put forward some support policy recommendations from three aspects of the government, developers and consumers, advocates the establishment of the promoting government organizations, to increase developers supply and consumers demand.The key of this research is to identify the stage of development of the housing industry in Wuhan. It firstly collects the data that the recognition model needs, then gets the calculated results of identifying indicators by computer technology, further analyzes the indicators, ultimately determines the stage of development of the housing industry in Wuhan.
