Abstract


In recent years, with the improvement of socio-economy and people’s living standard,dairy has become an important part of people’s daily food consumption. The increasedemand in market makes China’s dairy industry a rapid development. The data from theNational Bureau of Statistics show that China’s dairy production was54.86million tons in1998, and25451900tons in2012, which achieved an average annual growth rate of31.5%.China’s entire dairy industry switched from the period of changes in the mode ofproduction to the period of changes in the mode of growth in2007.The development ofdairy industry has been of great concern.Based on the theory of economic growth and technological progress and the researchstatus of technological progress and dairy industry at home and abroad, this thesis makesimprovements on the key links of the combination of methods of production functions andSolow growth rate equation which is used to estimate the contribution rate of thetechnological progress, and then dynamically estimates the output elasticity of capital andlabor with the data of China’s dairy industry in1998-2010, and then estimates thecontribution rate of technological progress and production factors to the economic growthof China’s dairy industry from1999to2010year by year. The results show that the outputelasticity of capital and labor of China’s dairy industry go under fluctuations change status,and the output elasticity of capital is bigger than labor’s, which demonstrates that China’sdairy industry is a capital-intensive industry. The average contribution rate of technologicalprogress to the economic growth of dairy industry is31.1%, and the average contributionrate of capital and labor is68.9%. The inputs of the factors of production become the maindriving force of economic growth of China’s dairy industry. China’s dairy industry presentsa state of extensive growth.
