Energy is the basis of the survival and development of human society, is the driving force of economic development. Since the reform and opening up, China's economy has developed rapidly, until today, China has become the world's largest developing country, and a proven track record of economic construction. However, a large part of China's rapid economic growth is based on the cost of high energy consumption. The sharp increase in energy consumption inevitably bring about a range of issues, such as energy shortages, environmental pollution, which is bound to become the bottleneck of China's economic development. On this basis, the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth has attracted widespread attention, and become another hotspot. This article is based on the economic growth of our country, in a scientific, systematic analysis of the relationship between China's energy consumption and constitute economic growth on the basis of, and provides a theoretical basis for the development of China's energy development strategy, industrial structure adjustment and economic model transformation. In the course of the study, using qualitative and quantitative research, the method of combining theory and empirical research. Qualitative analysis, by the intensity of energy consumption, energy consumption elasticity analysis of the impact of energy consumption on economic growth, trend indicators, we concluded: role since the reform and opening up, China's energy consumption to economic growth Although some fluctuations, but the overall showing a trend of enhanced energy efficiency is also improved; quantitative analysis, the use of relevant theoretical model as a tool by means of econometric software Eviews 6.0, and structure of China's total energy consumption relationship with economic growth, as well as short-term and long-term under their mutual influence made an analysis of the system. Logarithmic model selected since reform and opening up in China since the 1978 to 2009 data, the energy consumption of the traditional production function as endogenous variables introduced and dealt with accordingly, so as to establish the expansion of the production function, respectively, on this basis energy consumption and GDP measured in order to determine the long relationship between the energy mix and economic growth in the short-term measure of the size of its role in promoting economic growth. Finally, a combination of theoretical and empirical article derived from the analysis of the results based on energy consumption strategy improvements and economic growth mode transformation, respectively, as well as coordination of China's energy consumption and economic growth relations proposed some countermeasures and suggestions.
