Abstract

The localized surface plasmon resonance could be induced on the surface of the metallicmicro-nano particle by the restoring force, which produced by the coulombic attractionsbetween electrons and cations in the surface of the particle under the applied electromagneticfield. LSPR effect can results in a strong enhancement of the optical scattering andabsorption resonance. In recent years, benefiting from increasing advances in nanotechnology, The metal-dielectric nanometer structure, as an important load of LSPR, has a lot of unique properties andfunctions, which has been applied to many fields including biology, cure, energy andcommunication, therefore there attract greatly attentions. Thereinto, metal-dielectric micro-nanostructures are being becoming the hot topic of current researches. This thesis, by combing the LSPR exciting at the metal-dielectric micro-nano structuresunder the applied electromagnetic, studied the light propagation characteristics of metal-dielectric micro-nano structures. The thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the research background, significant and current study situation of theSPR and LSPR of the metal-dielectric micro-nano structures, and the main research contents ofthe thesis are given. In the second chapter, the characteristics of scatting and extinction spectra of goldnanoshell pairs depend on the its geometry and physical parameters has been investigated by theFinite Element Method based on the plasmon hybridization theory, and three cases for eachmethod are discussed, including the change of the diameter of shell, change of the gap distanceand change of the dielectric of inner core.In the third chapter, under the applied electromagnetic, the optical characteristics ofnanorice in the different assembly dimer have been investigated. With the different polarizationof the incident light and three assemblies are discussed, such as the end-to-end, side-by-side andend-to-side.In the fourth chapter, the characteristics of scattering spectra of gold-silver nanodiskdimer depend on the it’s geometry and physical parameters has been investigated, and explainedit by the dipole-dipole model. By change the diameter, thickness and gap distance of thenanodisks, as well as effect of the different polarization angle of the incident light, we have obtained the connections between LSPR and geometry and physical parameters. It is expectedto lay the groundwork for the experiments in laboratories. According to our previous work, wehave studied the characteristics of the enhancement in the gap region, as the polarization parallelto the axis of the dimer. By change the diameter and gap distance, the change of theenhancement in the gap region have been obtained. It is expected to lay the groundwork for theexperiments in laboratories. In the last chapter, the conclusions and potentially applications of the work are given. In summary, the propose and the theoretical analysis of the metal-dielectric micro-nanostructures, not only provide the theory or principle for the design, production and application, but also offer certain reference meaning for the exploration of the light propagations in themicro-nano structures.
