Abstract


The coal business is the main business of Qinhuangdao Port, plays the mostimportant role in it in the future. What kind of strategic mode should be taken to adapt tothe changing of the external environment. So, the emphases of this paper will be asfollow.This paper analyzes the current strategic management of the ports at home andabroad, understands the current development of the transport enterprises of the coal portsdevelopment strategy, determines the main content and key thorny issues, puts forwardthe basic idea of the research, to provides the support of the theory and practice forformulating Qinhuangdao Port coal main business strategic management plan.In order to formulate the scientific and rational Qinhuangdao coal main businessstrategy, the paper analyzes internal and external environment of Qinhuangdao Port. Thepaper points out Qinhuangdao Port can learn from the experience in the analysis offoreign coal shipping ports. Through the analysis of the domestic macroeconomicenvironment and the industry environment with Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, thepaper finds the opportunities and threats faced by the Qinhuangdao Port, and points outthe problems and development trends of the other domestic port enterprise strategicmanagement. These will give Qinhuangdao Port much practical support in thedevelopment environments.The paper uses the SWOT to analyze the advantages and disadvantages ofQinhuangdao Port coal main business, tell it how to how to seize external opportunities,reduce threats, overcome problems with its own strengths, provide a critical basis forformulating strategic management plan.On the basis of the above study, the paper puts forward the strategic policy of theQinhuangdao Port, determines the strategic focus with regression model, and makes aseries of implementation strategies to achieve its strategic objectives.
