Abstract

Lignite coal belongs to low metamorphic coal. Relative to higher metamorphism coal, its chemical structure changes are easier to implement, lignite after hydrogention mofification has better bondability than before and can be used as coking coal, which is of great significance for lignite upgrading and rational utilization of coal resources. Plastic is polymer with rich hydrogen and less carbon. Plastic’s rich hydrogen structure can affect the structure and properties of coal during the process of hydrogenation modification of Lignite blending with plastic. In this paper, the lignite autoclave hydrogenation experiments under different reaction conditions, lignite and polypropylene (PP) blend hydrogenation experiments and lignite and polypropylene co-pyrolysis experiments were researched. The structure characteristics of modified coal has been studied in detail by using Chromatography analysis technology, thermal analysis, IR analysis and pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PY-GC-MS) technology and other modern analysis methods, and made further understanding to the mechanism of reinforced bondability. The main results are as follows:1. The modified coal that obtained from hydrogenation reaction of Lignite under the condition of350℃,8Mpa hydrogen pressure and3hours reaction time has the higher H/O, which showed that hydrogen content increased and some oxygen-containing groups got the removal. More fat structure and enhanced pyrolysis reactivity of the modified coal showed that oxygen containing functional groups and side chain were replaced by free hydrogen which could enhance the coal internal capacity of providing hydrogen, and changed the composition and content of the low molecule compounds in modified coal. The coking index of Modified coal has greatly improved.2. Lignite and polypropylene (PP) co-pyrolysis experimental data showed that there was overlapping temperature range between them. When they were co-pyrolysis, the temperature corresponding to maximum weight loss rate was higher than that of both Lignite and polypropylene. Using theoretical calculation under the condition of the hypothesis compared with the actual measured data, we found that the actual weightlessness rate is less than theoretical weightlessness rate in each temperature range, which showed that Lignite and polypropylene (PP) co-pyrolysis has interaction.3. The modified coal that obtained from hydrogenation reaction of the mixture of Lignite and polypropylene(10:1) under the condition of350℃,8Mpa hydrogen pressure and3hours reaction time has higher bond index than that of Lignite. Through the analysis of the modified coal, we found that, under the condition of350℃, the pyrolysis ion fragments of polypropylene were interact with that of coal, and finally there were more modest molecular structure of the bondability of active components, which include high aliphatic structure and phenol, alcohol structure.
