Abstract


Digital camera was used in many application such as industy,medical, scientific research, military and etc for its highly flexible, reliable,high performance and complete product line. It can be found in almost all system as video input equipment. The digital camera with Camera Link interface was frequently used in the scientific research area for it’s high transfers speed.Most of it cooperated with image process unit, thus can record and also could measure the parameter. But system need some established image such as all black, all white, discrimination target and etc during the process of adjusting and calibrating. Now It is implemented by using collimated light system and discrimination plate and It had several disadvantage such as hard to use, low accuracy, so didn’t suit for modern system anymore. So a new method which could overcome this disadvantage is urgently needed.We design a new Camera Link Interface based equipment which could output the established digital video. This equipment was named Virtual Digital Camera. Virtual Digital Camera can output the image which input through USB interface, both format and speed were adjustable. We introduce the develop status in this area both national&international, and presented the concept of Virtual Digital Camera. We also made a trial manufacture to validate the design. The Virtual Digital work quite well and flexible during the test, It could output any established image and will be a perfect solution for system adjusting and calibrating.
