Abstract


As we all know, asphalt pavement recycling technology has a significant economic andenvironmental benefits. But technicality and efficiency are contradictory to each other. So it’snecessary to have a comprehensive analysis on the technical and economic benefits beforepromoting the asphalt pavement recycling technology. On this basis we can choose the bestrecycling technology. However, most of the studies about the efficiency are to general tomake a clear benefit of each stage, lacking of quantitative analysis method. Therefore, it willbe necessary to make a quantitative analysis of the economic costs, energy consumption andgas emissions, evaluating the economic benefit of the asphalt pavement recycling technologyas well as the advantages of energy saving and emission reduction.This paper made a large number of investigations and analysis of the characteristics andapplication of each recycling technology at home and abroad, by combination of literaturesurvey and test road survey. Making a detailed discussion on the feasibility of the asphaltpavement recycling technology to provide technical support for the quantitative analysis.Based on quota, the economic costs as well as the proportion of the various parts ofasphalt pavement recycling technology were calculated in detail. Then they were compared tothe commonly asphalt mixture. In the end, the material cost sacing rate and the total costsaving rate were derived.Based on life cycle assessment, combing with the investigation of energy consumptionand gas emissions, the quantitative analysis model was established. According to that, energyconsumption and gas emissions were calculated in detailed process of asphalt pavementrecycling technology, based on quota and emission factor. In the end, the energy-saving rateand reduction rate were obtained.Finally, applying analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to determine the index weight ofcost-saving, energy-saving, emission reduction and pavement performance. According to that,the comprehensive quantitative analysis of asphalt pavement recycling technology wasestablished. Then, based on Excel program,the simple and practical program was designed. The results of this study can provide effective data support for large-scale application inthe country of asphalt pavement recycling technology. The advantage of conserving resources,protecting environment, improving the quality of pavement and extending the service life ofpavement would be brought out fully.
