Abstract


Porous asphalt pavement is a kind of asphalt pavement structure,which uses alarge air voids of mixture as the layer of the pavement structure,allowing the surfacewater immerses into its internal structure. Usually its internal structure is a skeletonwhich is composed by a series of pore structure connecting with the outside air.And atsame time it can meet the requirements of vehicle load and the durability of thepavement. Porous asphalt pavement used in urban road has many advantages, it canlowers noise, reduces surface runoff, prevents urban flood, supplies urbangroundwater effectively, mitigates the urban heat island effect, prevents splasheswater and glance and so on. Because of its functions of improving living environmentand enhancing the driving comfort and safety, porous asphalt pavement has a gooddevelopment prospect in the next decades.When designing the structure of porous asphalt pavement, the contradiction bet-ween infiltration and structural ought to be solved firstly.On one hand, it should meetthe functions of permeating flood, and on the other hand, it should satisfy t he functionof bearing load, so designing a reasonable structure for the pavement is very impor-tant This paper studied the infiltration function and load-bearing characteristics, andthe main research results are obtained as follows:(1) Investigated the typical asphalt pavement structure combinations in abroadurban road, and analyzed its advantages and disadvantages, then at this basis gavethree kinds of structure combinations, and chose the suitable materials and theirmechanical parameters and permeable property indexes.(2) Analyzed that water entrapped into the internal structure of the pavementcould produce all kinds of hazards to the pavement structure, so it is very importantand necessary to set the drainage system inside the pavement structure. Referring tothe internal drainage system in the United States, designed the internal drainagesystem and its basic components which are accordant with our country’s regionalcharacterristics of the pavement structure.(3) Analyzed permeable characteristics of the pavement structure by changingthe surface thickness, base thickness, the soil permeability coefficient and the rainfallconditions, Studied the effects caused by these factors on the permeable pavement structure, and then summaried the main influencing factors for designing drainageasphalt pavement structure.(4) Compared the strain characteristics of the asphalt pavement structure in threeconditions of non-water, not water-saturated and saturated with water to study theinfluence of different moisture state of the permeable asphalt. Analyzed the bearingcapacity of the three pavement structures by changing the thickness of the grass-root,the grading macadam subbase modulus and the modulus of soil, found out the mainfactors that influence the bearing capacity, Put forward the main technical measuresthat guarantee the waterproof function and the bearing capacity of the structure.
