Abstract


With the development of social economy and need of people’s life, the highway infrastructure is beingimproved constantly; management is complicated day by day.The traditional management style is far frommeeting the need of the highway development. To set up a convenience, swift the management informationsystem, which can reflect the actual conditions vividly, accurately, benefit inquiry and editor as well, hasalready become the trend in the highway management at the new situation.Based on the analysis of the current application situations of highway management with GIS at homeand abroad, and the systematic introduction of rudimentary knowledge of GIS,it’s secondary developmentand ComGIS trend,The highway management information system of Bao Ji city is carried on overall designfrom the requirement analyses to exploiture goal, building principle，structure design,function design andso on.Secondly, the author carried on the detailed design to the database of the system, and the deepdiscussion in the disposal, memory structure of data and the composing of database.Finally,On the basis ofthe above analysis, the author exploited the highway management information system of BaoJi city basedon GIS.(1) Solve the management of highway and it’s affiliated facility founded on the regular of spacegeography, based on the figure display, strong spatial query and spatial analyses of GIS.(2) Adopt the integrative management style of spatial data and attribute data to carry on memory andsearch of the data very conveniently and efficiently. All data are stored in the relation shape databasemanagement system—SQL Server2000,which guarantee the integrity of the data and improve the securityof system and efficiency of management by operating the database through ArcSDE spatial dataengine.(3) Adopt the development mode based on system structure of C/S (customer/server) which is ripe inthe technology, and takes advantage of the preponderance of LAN.This mode is suitable for mufti-user tooperate, satisfies many highway administration departments’ application at the same time, both bings intoplay the utility of the server and ensures the security of the data.(4) Regard Visual Basic6.0as the visual developing plat form, the ComGIS—MapObjects2.3withcomparatively complete function as the figure display tool, which is suitable for the most users habits ofuseing Windows but also meets figure information of users’ needs, and can also display the different gradeshighway information separately.
