Abstract


Since the1980s, the video surveillance system in China developed very rapidly, thesystem structure is rising, function is more abundant, and the application areas have also beengreatly extended. According to the different structure, video surveillance system can bebroadly divided into three categories—analog video surveillance system, analog/digitalhybrid video surveillance system and digital network video surveillance system, and each ofthem contains a variety of implementations. Because of the advantages and disadvantages ofeach monitoring system, in different areas should choose proper type of surveillance systembased on specific application requirements.Currently, the research on the selective preference of expressway video surveillancesystem is still relatively small. Aiming at the problem of selecting the architecture ofexpressway video surveillance system, based on analytic hierarchy process, this paper studieda selection method of expressway video surveillance system.This paper reviewed the relevant data, researched the development process andsummarized main types of video surveillance system, analyzes the characteristics of all kindsof video surveillance system; analysis of the management structure of expressway in ShaanxiProvince, and simulated a virtual demand. According to the simulation needs, this paper setup five kinds of typical video surveillance system—analog video surveillance system,analog/digital hybrid video surveillance system (ADC and digital compression in sub-centers),analog/digital hybrid video surveillance system (ADC in control stations), analog/digitalhybrid video surveillance system (ADC and digital compression in control stations) anddigital network video surveillance system. According to the different on mage acquisition,occupied bandwidth, transmission distance, transmission delay, and data storage andprocessing, this paper compared the five kinds of monitoring system and establish theevaluation model based on Analytic Hierarchy Process, finally got the most suitable videosurveillance system architecture for expressway demand.
