Abstract


Solar assisted multifunctional heat pump (SAMHP) is a combination of heat pump and solar energy utilization technology. SAMHP can possess more operation modes than those of traditional heat pumps and solar systems. The SAMHP can meet the demand of space heating, space cooling and heat water and improve the utilization ratio of the facilities. The high efficiency operation and the switch between operation modes are the basis of application of the SAMHP.A new indirect-expansion solar assisted multifunctional heat pump has been designed and tested in experiment. The main contents and results of the research is as follows:1. A new indirect-expansion solar assisted multifunctional heat pump is proposed based on the review of the studies on the solar assisted heat pump at home and abroad, which provides three new operation modes for space heating and water heating with a relatively simple structure and can meet the requirement of practical applications.2. An experimental set-up has been designed and built to test the performance of the new indirect-expansion solar assisted multifunctional heat pump. The ten operation modes can be operated successfully.3. The performance of the water heating and space heating functions has been investigated in detail under different outdoor temperatures and operation modes and important results have been obtained, which provide a solid foundation for the future research. 4. Compared with the normal water heating operation mode, the solar-assisted water heating operation mode can greatly improve COP and save the time; the two heat sources combination water heating and two heat source switchover water heating operation modes can also improve COP when the sunshine is insufficient.
