Abstract


With the development of society, the importance of public environmental facilities has a remarkable increase in people’s daily life. The public facilities not only bring convenience to human being but also show the civilization level of a city and embody city’s concern of human being. Furthermore, public environmental facilities are essential carriers to spread the spirit which were already existed, irreplaceable, unforgettable in particular places. The public environmental facilities are an essential and indispensable part of city’s environment. However, the normal public environmental facilities in a city are usually quite converging. Moreover, due to the rapid developing of urbanization, the designing of urban public environmental facilities is ignored. As a result, the designing of environmental facilities is quite similar.In view of the GENIUS LOCI theory of phenomenology, this essay will discuss the designing of public environmental facilities which imported GENIUS LOCI. This article can be divided into seven chapters. The introduction part of the first chapter introduces the research background, the related research in local china and abroad, moreover,the significance of this research will be discussed either. Trough the field research method and questionnaire research method, the related questions or problems of public environmental facilities have been discussed in chapter two and problems which appears in current situation have been analyzed in this chapter. This leads to the third chapter, GENIUS LOCI theory, which explores the GENIUS LOCI in public environmental facilities and gets the objective factors and subjective factors of the public environmental facilities that are filled with the GENIUS LOCI. The followed chapter four mainly analyze the key factors in visual sense and mentality, which is the accessory key chapter of this essay. Chapter five as a key part in this paper mainly discusses the designing principles, ideas and methodology of the public environmental facilities which is filled of the GENIUS LOCI. Chapter six is case anatomy which is disproof of design principles, ideas and methodology, then get inspiration. The last chapter is the design practice that based on the theory.
