Abstract


Currently, large machinery equipments in the port are generally driven by thegearbox or hydraulic system which have some disadvantages, such as more intermediateconversion links, more failure points, heavy maintenance work, high energy consumption,and so on. If the advantages of the direct driving motor can be introduced into themachinery equipments, the driving structure can be simplified, the maintenance work willbe reduced, and the intact rate of the machines will be improved, a new record of the portproduction will be created. Therefore, research the use of the direct driving motor on themachinery equipments is imperative.Direct drive motor as a new type of drive components, has the advantages of zerotransmission, high precision and high efficiency. Direct drive motor can meet thehigh-speed and high-precision requirements of the modern manufacturing industry, andwill be widely used. But so far, direct drive motor is rarely applied in the port equipment.This paper focuses on the walking mechanism of the stacker-reclaimer, and analyzes thefeasibility of using the direct drive motor. The theoretical calculation method and practicalproblem analysis method to verify the feasibility of this scheme are given out. The directdrive motors studied in this paper include linear motors and torque motors. Specific workinclude:The working principle, characteristics and classification of the direct drive motor(linear motor and torque motor) are studied, and the feasibility of the stacker-reclaimerdriven by direct drive motor is verified from the drive way. Some applications of the directdrive motor are given out..Establish a mathematical model for the walking mechanism system of thestacker-reclaimer, calculate the traction force that drive the stacker-reclaimer to walk andthe output torque of motor output shaft, complete the direct drive motor’s model selectionaccording to the results of the calculation, verify the feasibility of the stacker-reclaimerdriven by direct drive motor in theory.Analyze the problems of installation issues and protection requirements, and give outthe corresponding solutions. Compare the efficiency, energy consumption and costs between the direct drive motor drive system and the traditional rotary motor drive system,confirm the advantages of direct drive motor in this parts, particularly, the advantages ofthe torque motor is more apparent.
