Abstract

Objective The present study was to investigate whether the neurokinin-1receptor(NK1R) and Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily Amember1(TRPA1) involved in regulating the gastric sensory function induced byshort pulse gastric electrical stimulation. Methods Thirty-six healthy S-D rats were randomly divided into NK1R/TRPA1short-pulse gastric electrical stimulation(GES) group、NK1R/TRPA1long-pulse GESgroup(sham group) and the NK1R/TRPA1control group,given/not given gastric electricalstimulation individually. The number of tracer-positive neuron and theNK1R/TRPA1-positive neuron detected by immunofluorescence and neural tracingtechnique were compared among every group. Results In short-pulse GES group, the number of NK1R-positive neuron was6.85±7.83,significantly lower than long-pulse GES group (10.21±10.08) and the control group(11.85±13.53)(P<0.05), but there were no difference between the long-pulse GES groupand the control group(P>0.05); In the short-pulse GES group, the number ofTRPA1-positive neuron was5.30±4.49,significantly lower than long-pulse GES group(7.84±7.51) and the control group (9.69±13.10)(P<0.05), but there wereno difference between the long-pulse GES group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusions The study showed that the change of NK1R-positive neuron andTRPA1-positive neuron in jugular and nodose induced by short pulse GES, whichsuggested that NK1R and TRPA1might involving in regulating the gastric sensoryfunction induced by short pulse gastric electrical stimulation.
