Abstract


Our country’s drug clinical trials began from1983when for the firsttime we set up14organizations for clinical research. To date, the numberhas developed to379, and more than2000clinical trials. Driven by theintegration of global pharmaceutical market, our country gradually formeddrug clinical trials industrialization. Because of the large population,various diseases and low cost of research, our country has become thefocus of drug clinical trials industry. Although only6000pharmaceuticalcompanies engaged in the research of drug clinical trials at present and theresearch capabilities amount less than10%of the global market, we havethe confidence to do better and provide high quality new drugs andtreatment plans for people in our country.After30years of development, we has made gratifying achievements,but also highlighted a series of problems, such as poor compliance ofpatients, quality remains to be strengthened, lacking of regulatory in theprocess of experiment, GCP training focuses on forms and so on. We mustprofoundly rethink of the current situation of our drug clinical trials, draw lessons from American experience and improve our research anddevelopment ability to bring benefit to the people of China and the world.
