Abstract


If one wants to speak a kind of language authentically, they have to make sure the pronunciation correct and the sentence fluent and accurate. Understanding and obtaining the connotation of culture connected to languages is also very important. Chinese Phatics is filled with Chinese culture. So if one can speak it in the right place, at the right time to the right person, it would be awesome. However, if they can not use it correctly, they may be laughed at or misunderstood by others. So Chinese Phatics is a very important part in the process of the second language learning. But the Chinese language teaching process does not catch enough attention. And Chinese Phatics is a cultural language. Therefore it is difficult to understand the true meaning of the Chinese Phatics and achieve flexibility when using it.This paper aims to analyze the Chinese Phatics and the situation of the teaching and learning to design teaching methods. The first part is to discuss the Chinese Phatics system and the special aspects for the second language learners. The Phatics is divided to three types: calling, greeting and situation on the spot.The second part is the analysis for the present situation of teaching and learning, which can help provide rational advice. Since the Chinese Phatics teaching and learning are mainly conducted in the classroom in accordance with the syllabus and the textbooks, it is hard to acquire the language in an appropriate and flexible way with deep understanding of the cross-cultural communication.Analysis of the learning and teaching situation is to put forward better advice in order to play a role in the teaching practice. The third part is the main part in this essay. Chinese Phatics is not enough on the textbooks, so the teachers are required to add something to the learning content and decide which part can be taught at a certain stage. It is also important to know the characteristics of the learners. To provide the teaching methods is the most helpful study and this essay sums up five methods. Chinese Phatics is a "high context" language. In order to make up for the classroom, the application of modern media can enhance the effectiveness for learning greatly. And in order to improve the teaching, teachers should realize the outcome of the learning and then change the methods for better teaching and learning.
