Abstract


This is an interpreting practice report on the Fourth Sino-Europe Agriculture Seminar. The report describes the background of the task, the characteristics of the task, and the process of the interpreting task. Pre-interpreting preparation is discussed in detail. Analyzing examples that are related to comprehension, this report discusses the strategies to improve the interpreter’s comprehension ability and the application of the comprehension strategies in interpreting. Through case analysis, this report provides four strategies to improve the interpreter’s comprehension efficiency: adequate background knowledge, discourse analysis, visualized and associative memory, and prediction.
