On the fertile ground of Chang Yang in Hubei Province, there are numerous of fork literature and art, including Chang Yang folk song, Chang Yang Southern opera, Du Zhen Bay story, etc. Therefore, Chang Yang is awarded as Hometown of Literature and Art in Hubei Province, and Hometown of Chinese folk culture. And Zi Qiu and Du Zhen Bay are published as the Hometown of Intangible Culture Heritage Protection by Yi Chang Government. With the development of human beings’ civilization, the traditional culture has been lost its living space gradually, and become historical heritage that nobody to care about. However, Li Qiong’s Eighteen Curve of Hill Path which was shown in the9th National Youth Singer TV Contest brought about the disputes of the judges. Meanwhile, the Lee’s sisters’ Hai Cai tune in the Youth Singer Contest in2004wasn’t successful because of the judges’ disapproval. Since the12th Youth Singer Contest on CCTV in2006, the natural style singing was added in the contest for the first time, and the natural folk songs became the researching focus of the scholars. Chang Yang natural folk song came into existence under the above background and brought about more attention, and it was listed as on of the intangible cultural heritage.Since the1950s, the cultural workers of the local government of Chang Yang City began to collect and tidy the local folk songs in different places. Furthermore, the government and experts attach importance to the Chang Yang’s natural folk songs in the recent ten years. They put more energy in collecting materials and have got huge success, including formulates the laws and regulations of the intangible cultural heritage protection, adopts diversified and multi-channel inherit mode, and organizes award ceremonies for the successors, etc. However, during the process of protecting the Chang Yang’s natural folk songs, there is no existing mode for imitate, which needs the exploration step by step. Meanwhile, there are also a number of difficulties and problems, such as the changing of the environment, the influence of the exotic culture, the insufficient of the fund investigation and inactive concepts, which are also the obstacles for the protection works. Therefore, some suggestions and opinions of the scholars are difficult to carry out and cause the severe disjunction between the theoretical work and realistic work. The Chang Yang’s natural folk songs are the excellent traditional national cultural heritage, the crystallization of working people’s wisdom, and also the source of the Chinese national vocal music, which do good to know about the local national culture, improve the national awareness and national unity, strengthen the national sense of pride, promote the social harmonious and the diversified development of national culture. Besides, it also does good to enrich the cultural life of the people and improve the musical accomplishment, etc. Therefore, no matter how severe of the surroundings and how severe of the situation, the author believes that we will definitely accomplish the work of inheriting work under the help of the modern technology.
