Because of a long history of about8000years, Chinese lacquer art is a deep motivation for many scholars to knowing its charm, learning its skill and researching its value. This paper aims to lacquer art inheritance and development, to clarify the innovation and change of concept of traditional Chinese lacquer art in different historical stages. The effective discussion of protection, inheriting and developing of traditional Chinese lacquer art, will play a positive role of cultural industry development.Based on lacquer art history, materials and technology as the opening, this paper expounds the ontology elements of lacquer art, such as development, craft technology and material. Make it clear about the definition of "lacquer art". The article based on the research method of the history of ideas, with its color, decoration and cultural background, discussed the culture characteristic in the Chinese classical thought and the cultural value in contemporary society of lacquer art. Core idea of this article is:because of the lacquer ware produced in specific historical stage and geographic areas, so the generation of cultural connotation is closely related with the time and the living conditions of the location and ideas.The main body part of this article select five regions of traditional lacquer art, expounds its history and present situation, aims to explore its inherent cultural diversity and commonality. They are Beijing carved lacquer with palace culture, Fuzhou bodiless lacquer art with its historical origin, XinJiang Carved lacquer ware and Pingyao pushed light lacquer art with Jinzhong culture, Yangzhou embedded technology with jade. Due to the difference of regional culture, the author described the uniqueness of the five areas respectively. At the same time, also according to the historical context finds the idea behind the change and cause, from the geographical and historical traces to find to the traditional lacquer art value of contemporary society. At this point, this paper raises the core problem "How to combine traditional lacquer art and contemporary art?" This part revolves the plane form and3D forms of lacquer art. They are a kind of new art form combine traditional lacquer art with contemporary art, and are also the best proof of traditional lacquer art into the contemporary culture. Actually, both plane form and solid form didn’t leave the core of lacquer art. They are the embodiment of the era of cultural value. At the end of the paper, I explore the protection and development of lacquer art from the perspective of countermeasure. They are the talent and reserve, the protection of the craftsmanship, and principles of contemporary lacquer art development. And I provide advice and reference for the establishment of related policies. This paper points out that the most important value of lacquer art in Chinese contemporary society is to use its own traditional culture temperament, reconstruction of the Chinese contemporary thought system. In the process of inheritance and development of lacquer art, we should pay attention to the cultural character of lacquer art. We cannot abandon principle and ontology to pursue the partial innovation, also cannot use the current cultural industry hot, enlarge its economic value. The lacquer art can produce effect on make up the fracture of traditional culture gene. So that it can make positive contribution for the Chinese contemporary culture art construction.
