Abstract


Wagner is a famous German composer in the late romantic nineteenth Century, infront of his opera works undertake Mozart, Beethoven Opera Tradition behind, openedthe post romantic opera composer trend, he is a music history rare opera reformer. Thereform that change the traditional opera form for his creation of music drama, is hisgreatest in the history of Opera on the achievements. He is not only a decisive role inGerman opera history, but also a important western musician who inherit thetraditional and make contributions to the future generations. His opera works by theapplication of the technique of harmony is to undertake the classical period of thetraditional harmony, and carried on the exploration and development of bold in itsbasis. In the opera of <twilight of the gods>,harmony plays an important role in thecharacterization of "motive image", chromatic harmony and the mode mixturealternately with the extensive application of the extreme expansion caused by theinternal tension of tonality, music increase, application of some complex chord iscaused by the longitudinal sound extreme tension, so that the dramatic the performanceof music more strengthen. This paper applies the shallow analysis of Wagner’s operaworks <twilight of the gods> of these harmonic technique practices.
