Abstract


With the development of reform and open policy and urbanization process, domestic subwayconstructions exhibit great leap forward. Besides first-tier cities, many second-tier or third-tier cities are alsoplanning the construction of subway and also its visual image. Till now, there are thirty-six domestic citieswith subway. Although domestic subway constructions began later than developed countries, the governmenthad established national standards of subway symbols by absorbing feasible experiences. The subway logowhich comprises underground tunnel, track and train employs visualized symbols for spread of uniform visualelements.However, due to the lack of marketization reform of the subway operational system and governmentalsupervision, many cities used personalized enterprise logo as the subway logo instead of standard subwaysymbols with increasing trend, leading to the current “flowers of every kind blooming together” situation. As acomponent of public utility, subway system belongs to basic urban facilities with obvious commonweal andtrack transportation characters. In the long term, owing to the lack of uniform expression, the diversity of thedesign of subway logo is against the spread of logo information and impedes the recognition and reception ofsubway information for passengers to a great extent. Highlighting the public feature of subway system,enhancing the uniformity and diversity of domestic subway logo design, handling well the relation of nationalstandards and enterprise logo, establishing and optimizing the brand image of subway and the idea of publicservice gradually are significantly and practically meaningful for the sustainable development of imagerecognition system of domestic track transportation. Based on communication, this thesis discusses andinvestigates the uniformity and diversity development of the design of domestic subway logo from thephilosophic perspective.Key words：Kaiping Diaolou,Guide sign system,guide sign design Tridimensional,visualization
