With the growing aging population in China, the traditional pension institutions and pension mode have already can’t meet this need, a new pension mode is born. The development of rural retirement places, depends on the rural environment surrounding the city, establishes a retirement place, provides the high quality of endowment facilities and services, then the city old men move to the place. This can not only alleviate the urban burden, deal with the aging population problem, but also can combine ecological protection, rural development with pension industry development, promoting the development of the local economy and society, helping solve the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers and pension issues, so as to achieve the aim of rural regional diversified development.In this article, through the analysis of the rural retirement place at home and abroad, as well as the present situation of the aged population in Wuhan; besides,I made the investigation about the pension demand in Wuhan;then I try to find the connection between the rural development, ecological protection and the pension problem, summarize the demand characteristics of the residents in Wuhan to rural retirement problem, analyze the necessity and feasibility of the rural retirement places,ensure the goal status and principles of rural retirement place,elaborate the subjects and objects of rural retirement place at the same time,then put forward three modes:including community self-help mode, interval interactive mode, property right mode;At last,I raise the three development strategies of the rural retirement places correspondingly.
