Abstract


The practice and thought of Dezhi has a history of thousands of years which wasdeeply rooted in the Chinese traditional political, economic, social and ideological concept.As a statecraft, it has been paid attention to by every dominator. The concept of De wasformed in the Xizhou dynasty, advocated and brought on the political stage by Zhougongwhen the Yinzhou regime changed. It was integrated by Confucianism at the end ofChunqiu period and formed into a system of Dezhi thought which played a role that cannotbeen ignored in the process of the ancient history of China. Review the thought of Dezhinot only has an important significance for the study of the hypostatic characteristics in theChinese authoritarian society but also can provide some useful reference for the modernrule of law construction.
