Abstract


With the development of the times and social progress, there is an increasing number of municipal solid waste for the generation, which seriously threatens the ecological environment. In order to give full play to protect the ecological environment, we need to focus on the recycling and utilization of municipal solid waste. However, it is obviously impossible for the domestic waste recycling if there is no public support and participation. Owing to the closely relation between the recycling behavior of residents and environmental ethics, with so many researches mostly in terms of economy in the past. In this study, the recycling behavior of urban residents is studied on the base of environmental ethics. It is of practical significance to the practices in the environmental protection for the research on recycling behavior of urban residents.First of all, based on the dimensions for theoretical analysis, the concept of recycling is defined, with the illustration of the studies on the relation between recycling behavior and environmental awareness. Then, through the empirical study, the environmental awareness will be testified in terms of different practices of urban residents for the waste recycling, their understanding on the knowledge of waste recycling, their attitude towards waste recycling and the evaluation of the current policy, with the analysis on the environmental ethics of urban residents by the methodology of the questionnaire. In this study, there are 27 questions designed in this study with regard to the waste recycling of residents, which are involved in the specific behaviors, attitudes and so on, for the waste recycling. Based on the investigation of 182 samples, it reached the conclusion as follows:(1) The residents are lack of the environmental protection knowledge, with the poor environmental awareness. (2) It is difficult to get into the habit of environmental behavior. (3) The factors of the age will not affect the behavior and attitude of waste recycling. (4) The level of education can influence on the behavior and attitude of waste recycling. (5) The occupation affects the waste recycling behavior. (6) The environmental awareness of residents is related to the environmental behavior.Finally, based on the combination between theory and practice, a proposal will be raised for enhancing the recycling behavior of residents, namely, it will be the technical foundation for improving the environmental awareness of residents; the environmental education will be done, based on the environmental ethics; the recycling behavior will be encouraged in order to promote the formation of environmental ethics.
