Abstract


Attention to vulnerable groups is a sign of social civilization and progress. People in intellectual disabilities group are more vulnerable in vulnerable groups, they need more care and help from our society. Mild and moderate intellectual disabilities group is the part of the mentally handicapped groups who can accept education and training. In the other words, they can enhance their ability by participating in the occupation ability training. Occupation ability for mildly and moderately mentally retarded people, not only the prerequisite for participation in employment, but also enhance their survival ability, the important way of enhancing the ability of social integration.This article is according to the demand situation of employer, combined with the actual situation of mild and moderate intellectual disabilities’, try to discuss how to improve the mild and moderate intellectual disabilities’ occupation ability through the social work methods. This article’s research methods include the action research, participant observation, questionnaire and interview.The study found that the mild and moderate intellectual disabilities occupation ability is not enough, a lot of them are in the closed environment. Promote their occupation ability, not only to promote on their education and service, but also can provide an example for scholars to study the mild and moderate intellectual disabilities’ problems. In addition, this study also discussed the problems in the service process, can provide reference for the social workers.Mild and moderate intellectual disabilities occupation ability training is a complex and arduous project. This study is only from the angle of demand, future research can integrate more resources to meet the diverse needs of the mild and moderate intellectual disabilities people.
