As the Broadcasting and Television industry gradually entered the HD and networked technology era, storage system, as one of the core technologies of high-definition broadcasting network, decides the system size and output of the program. Hebei TV Station proposed to construct HD news broadcasting storage system:create a pure HD broadcasting storage system. Storage system is the backbone of the whole news network, all the gathering, editing process and product of audio data preservation, exchange, sharing and access, and all kinds of cooperation process are based on it. In order to satisfy the demand of HD signal, storage systems must have mass storage and the characteristics of high bandwidth. Therefore, the designing, planning and management of the storage system became very important. This paper made a systems analysis in high-definition news storage system, based on the theoretical analysis and practical test in storage capacity, storage mode, storage structure, storage bandwidth, data compression format, expansibility and safety, and it also discussed the different size and application situation of storage system. On the basis of theoretical study, we design the Hebei TV HD News Storage System. This paper, combined with the practical application of the Hebei storage system, storage capacity and bandwidth, also use the theoretical calculation and practical measurement result to confirm the theoretical analysis and calculation results. At the end of this paper, we discuss the way to settle some problems which were found in the use of the system, and put forward the technical scheme to improve the system performance in the future.
