On the Design of Home Security System for Teaching

With the continuous development of science and technology, SCM (Single Chip Microcomputer) has been widely applied to various fields, which greatly improved people’s living standards. SCM will be used more and more widely in the future and enterprises will need more SCM talents. But nowadays quite a few graduates can not adjust themselves to the development of enterprises. The reason mainly lies in the disconnect between the traditional teaching mode and the needs of enterprises.This paper proposes a case teaching mode combining SCM teaching with the design of home security system, based on available researches.The main contributions are as follows:(1) The design of home security systemThe design of the home security system includes hardware design and software design.The hardware design includes oscillator and reset circuit, power supply, temperature sensor, gas sensor, TC35I mobile phone module, alarm module, keyboard and display module and infrared transceiver module. The software design introduces the program flow diagram of each module, containing the main thinking of program design.(2) The combination of home security system with SCM teachingThe home security system covers the points of the SCM syllabus that are necessary for students to master. In hardware teaching, each SCM teaching point is combined with the hardware design of each module of home security system. In software teaching process, the command syntax is first introduced, then followed the flow chart of each hardware module, so as to help students clarify procedures for design ideas and guide them in writing programs.(3) Anti-interference designAnti-interference design starts mainly from two aspects—hardware and software. In order to achieve high reliability of the system, we need combine the hardware design process with the demand of anti-interference function. Reasonable software design can make the system restore normal operation when it is interrupted.(4) Low power dissipation designLow power dissipation design also starts from the two aspects—hardware and software and shall run through the whole process of system design. The components meeting the demand for low power dissipation should be selected in the hardware design, while the software design should consider the demand for the design of low power dissipation function for the purpose of saving energy.
