Abstract


In the transitional period of China, protests have been growing. Wukan Incident was one of the typical cases which attract the world’s attention. The report analysises the interpersonal communication network,organizational communication network, the mass media communication network and new media communication network of Wukan Incident, preseningt its social communication network, to try to answer this question:How is Wukan Incident communicated to the world?Through the research, the report suggests that, Wukan Incident’s interpersonal communication network is base on relationship,and the activist’s individual network has interaction with each other. Wukan Incident’s organizational communication network has the function of enhancing the cohesion,control and identity,which promotes the rationalization and legalization of the incident. The mass media have different construction frame of the incident which is diversified and could promote each other. This characteristic is good for the development of the incident. The new media communication network is also an important factor in this incident.Finally, the report suggests that, Wukan Incident’s social communication network is based on trust,and diffused layer upon layer.New media technology plays a very important role in the communication network. In addition, social communication network for protests has the following functions:1. To mobilize resources;2. Being good for organization and division of labor;3. To sustain the collective identity;4. Being good for information sharing.
