Abstract


Food is the unsubstitution material base which the humanity cannot leave, and aprerequisite to maintain political stability, economic and social development. In thecontext of global food crisis, food is considered to be strategic product, how to ensurefood security has become an important part of national strategy of many countries.Cultivated land is the basis of food production, many countries has entered intofarmland race because of the imbalance distribution and the condition of globalagricultural resources.China is the development country which has the most population in the world;it’s hard to keep food security for China in the long run. The sustainable developmentof China’s food security will be largely affected by the cultivated land, waterresources and the population expansion, and cannot be guaranteed by internationalfood trade. So, there is the possibility of export-oriented food production in China.With strengthening of China’s economic strength, the comparative advantages ofpolitics, economy and technology have owned by Chinese enterprises. But with theexpansion in scale and investment area of export-oriented food production, lots ofproblems and uncertain risks such as politics, economy, policy etc. have to be facedby Chinese enterprises. Considered with the economic, social and ecological benefits,the China’s export-oriented food production will be implemented necessarily, and itcannot be successful without the governments’ and the enterprises’ great efforts.The main body of the thesis is consisted by four parts: firstly, the possibility ofChina’s export-oriented food production is existing through the analysis of the presentsituation of China’s food production. Secondly, the present situation of agriculturalforeign investment, the comparative advantages of Chinese enterprises and theuncertain risks are analyzed in the second part. Thirdly, with the comprehensiveanalysis from three aspects of economic, social and ecological benefits to make surethe necessity of China’s export-oriented food production. At last, according to theabove three parts, effective suggestions will be established by the government and theenterprises to make this strategy successful.
