Abstract


With the accelerating process of cities and the expanding distribution range of cities，aswell as the links of the adjacent cities are increasingly close. The traditional passengertransport has not been able to satisfy people’s demand. And therefore it spawned the inter-citypublic transport,which is a new transport for passenger across the city boundary. At present,the inter-city public transport related theory research has been rare, moreover, the study onthe problem of the fare about ticket which has always been concern by society is more scarce.Scientific and reasonable price for the sustainable development of inter-city public transportwill be a very important signification, so it is necessary to research into the pricing method.This paper adopt quantitative and qualitative methods, besides apply theoreticalknowledge of transport economics and market price theory. Basing on the extensiveliteratures, we research into the method of making the fare via the investigation, discussion,expert’s advice and combining with the knowledge of our own. Firstly, the paper analyse thecurrent situation and existing problem of fare from the connotation, present developmentsituation and development trend. Then, this paper determined the pricing principles and theinfluence factors of the ticket price formulation. At the same time, the general pricing methodof products were summarized. Then, the article make an in-depth analysis to the method ofconsidering that the inter-city bus can be used through the comparative analysis and referenceof others. Secondly, the paper base on the average cost plus pricing methods and Ramsaypricing to determine the ticket price. The article has established multi-factor fare model,which base on considering the maximum comprehensive benefit. Besides Analytic HierarchyProcess is applied to treatment for respectively determining price. Finally, the article veridedthe model by examples. As the inter-city bus system continue to improve, the model shouldbe adjusted, in order to adapt to the dynamic changes of the transportation environment.The paper provides a method and idea for instituting the inter-city public transport fares,as well as provides the decision-making basis for the government and enterprises to formulaterelevant policies, which has important practical significance in the development andmanagement of inter-city public transport.
