Abstract


Objective: To investigate the callus extended postoperative concurrent re-fracture incidence, and risk factors associated with concurrent re-fracture, and to provide a basis for finding effective prevention and control measures. Methods: A retrospective study from April 2005 to December 2009 in our hospital applications mosaic external fixator line callus extended postoperative up to bones Clinical healing patients, 177 patients (198 limbs). Assessment of its risk factors, data using Excel software to establish a database, to use SPSS.17.0 statistical analysis software for variable assignment and statistical analysis. Measurement data to univariate analysis, mean ± standard deviation (x ± s), count data using χ2 test, multivariate analysis, multi-factor non-conditional Logistics regression analysis, P lt; 0.05 for the difference was statistically significant. The results: a retrospective analysis of 177 cases (198 limbs), 19 cases of re-fracture and re-fracture rate of 9.60%. Univariate analysis: age and re-extension parts and re-fracture incidence the: lower extremity Yanchang patients fracture was higher than in the upper limbs of Yanchang; prolongation of the tibia in the lower extremity Yanchang fracture was higher than in patients with hip extension; The incidence of fractures related: patients ≤ 20 years of age and fracture incidence is lower than in patients over the age of 20; extend the total distance and then the incidence of fractures related: extend the length of the longer, the higher incidence of refracture. Extend the length ≤ 3cm longer fracture incidence was 5.84%, extend the length of 3-5cm, the incidence of fractures 6.31% 20.41%, extend the length of 5cm-and then the incidence of fractures; the longer fractures occur with extended parts without previous surgical history Related: extend parts of no previous surgical history of re-fracture rate lower than the previous surgery site; fracture rate. etiology: congenital malformations in patients and then the highest fracture rate (19.35%), post-traumatic bone defects re-fracture nonunion or osteomyelitis patients (6.52%), followed by the lowest bone tumor or other causes of patients re-fracture rate (4.35%). The patient's gender, lower limb simultaneously extend the two parts of the femur and tibia bone lengthening postoperative fracture rate was not statistically significant. Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that patients with the cause, extend the distance is an independent risk factor for postoperative fractures occurred relative risk as follows 2.914,2.644. Conclusion: This group applications mosaic the external fixator line callus lengthening surgery postoperative concurrent re-fracture incidence is 9.60%, extend the site, the total extended distance, the patient's own factors (age, etiology), extend parts of previous surgical history concurrent re-fracture risk factors. Etiology and extend the distance is an independent risk factor for postoperative fractures occurred.
